SESSION INTRO

The mobility industry is under expansion of its gamut including self-driving car, drone, micro mobility, car and ride sharing, and even to spaceship. The Mckinsey predicts that the world market size of the mobility is expected to grow to 1.5 trillion USD by 2030. Many global big names in both manufacturing and IT industries are very aggressive in taking the initiative in this trend. The future of mobility in Korea, however, is constrained by dense regulations and protection of the vested interests of the old market players. The regulatory sandbox has been introduced to allow innovative propositions, but it shows rather slow progress. What are the challenges in the future of mobility? What are the tasks to be done especially in the regulatory framework? This session reviews the different cases aiming to provide policy recommendation for the government.
